GRS Wooden Bench Pin (Bird’s Mouth)

For those who want a wooden bench pin (or bird’s mouth) that they can customize however they’d like, here is GRS’s original wooden bench pin. Made in the US, it fits all of our dovetail bench mounts, or GRS’s benchmate mounts. (They’re the same.) It pops on and off the dovetail in seconds, and can be easily removed and replaced with any of either our or GRS’s great line of other widgets that fit onto the dovetail system.

The purpose of the wooden one, as opposed to our normal stainless steel piercing plate is to allow the end user to customize the shape and pattern of the working area however they’d like. All it takes is a wood saw.

For piercing, you want to orient the wooden part so that the flat side is facing up. Or, if you’d rather, you can leave it with the angled side facing up, and use it to brace small parts for filing. The possibilities are endless.
